The Beast

Dining room table

A river stone penetrates the glass table top. It reminds us that forces of nature are all around us.

The heart of this table is ‚the beast‘: The root of an elm tree with river stones grown in. A client found this amazing piece while fishing.

It was now my challenge to tame the beast without breaking it.

With the help of the ancient technique of steam bending I bent the circle which encircles the beast.
All the joinery was drilled freehand, with a keen eye.
